Daily character learning
Short daily lessons that combine meaning, proverb, a real-life test, a practice and a reflection.
A cultural education & character-formation movement
Ìwà l’ẹwà — Character is Beauty
A cultural education and character-formation movement reviving Yoruba wisdom for modern life.
Why this matters now
Ọmọlúàbí was once a dominant moral code in Yoruba life — a measure of whether a person was well-raised, trustworthy and useful to others.
The Initiative seeks to renew character, dignity, truthfulness, communal responsibility and cultural continuity for a new generation — making this wisdom teachable and practicable, not just admired.
To see a world where character, dignity, truthfulness, responsibility and communal good are taught, practised and passed from one generation to the next.
To revive, teach and transmit the Yoruba ideal of Ọmọlúàbí as a practical framework for character formation, ethical living, leadership, family life, community responsibility and human dignity.
What we do
Short daily lessons that combine meaning, proverb, a real-life test, a practice and a reflection.
A growing, carefully reviewed bank of Yoruba proverbs on character — the Òwe Ìwà Register.
Materials that bring character formation into homes, classrooms, workplaces and community life.
One learning engine, published across WhatsApp, SMS, audio, video and social channels.
The Ọ̀nà Ìwà learning engine
Ọ̀nà Ìwà guides learners through 16 Core Ọmọlúàbí Virtues, each taught across three movements.
Grasp the meaning of a virtue and why it matters — through teaching, story and proverb.
Turn the virtue into conduct, proven by small actions under real pressure.
Make the virtue a settled way of life — in character, relationships and leadership.
How the Initiative works
Each day is built from the same five simple parts — authored once, then carried through WhatsApp, SMS, website, audio, video, families, schools and community partners.
Delivered through many channels.
